The First Act
In 2014, Adam Pasquale co-founded Recycle Track Systems (RTS). James Rascoe was its Head Architect. He built the platform that powered the business.
RTS gave corporate customers, real estate firms, stadiums, national chains, one point of contact and clean reporting, delivered by coordinating the work of independent haulers.
It worked. We won customers and expanded into multiple cities. An $11.7 million Series A in 2017. A $27 million Series B in 2019, nearly $39 million in all. In 2020, we stepped back from the day to day.
Most stories would end there. Ours was just the first act.
[Exit, stage left.]
Intermission
[House lights up.]
That gave us time. And stepping back let us consider the entire industry, not just one piece of it.
Running a hauling operation is genuinely hard. Customers want scheduling handled, problems resolved, pickups confirmed, reporting delivered: every day, without fail. The work on the street is only half the job. The communication around it is the other half. The biggest companies have always had tools built for that. Most independent haulers never had access to anything like them.
And inside their own walls, most haulers cannot see their own profitability. Revenue, yes. Expenses, yes. But which routes, which accounts, which services actually make money? Nearly impossible to know.
We identified problems that we wanted to fix.
Enter AI
[Enter Artificial Intelligence.]
It changed what software can be. Technology has always moved in leaps: the PC, the internet, the smartphone. And we know exactly how to leverage this one for the hauler.
This industry’s dreams are finally buildable. So we started building.
The Second Act: RouteNow AI
[The curtain rises again.]
RouteNow AI is built for one person: the hauler. The operator with trucks on the road and a book of customers to keep happy.
It was built from a blank sheet of paper. No legacy architecture, no technical debt, AI from day one. It reads dump tickets. Captures billing. Tracks trucks. Optimizes routes. Measures profitability by route, account, container, and service.
And it carries the work that was always hardest to sustain by hand: the customer relationship. Proof of service, clean communication, fast answers, straight from the hauler.
It doesn’t force you to change how you do business. It adapts to how you already work: your schedules, your billing habits, your names for things. We do it your way, not ours.
For the first time, an owner can see where the money is.
Center Stage
[The spotlight swings to the hauler.]
The biggest waste companies always had sophisticated technology. Independent haulers didn’t. Working through a broker has often been the practical answer, and sometimes it still is. Brokers have a place, and we’re not here to take it from them.
What haulers never had was the choice. RouteNow empowers the operator to own the whole job: the service, the customer relationship, and the profit. And it gives them the numbers to decide, clearly, when that’s the right call and when it isn’t.
Built by people who understand waste, from every seat at the table.
The Encore
In the first act, we built for the big guys. Now, this one’s for you.
Run your operation.
Own your customers.
Know your numbers.
Choose, on your own terms.
The next generation of waste management belongs to the haulers.
[Curtain.]
